Sep 14 - Hiking Club 6 mile Appalachian Trail Hike 8:30am


Meet at the Trellis Terrace & carpool to the trail entrance off Route 40 near Route 70. Bring good shoes & a hiking stick for this moderate & rocky hike to the Washington Monument State Park and back. Pack a lunch and water, and enjoy a nice picnic lunch just below the Monument.  Sep 15 - Franklin Fall Farm Fest at Cedar Pine Farms 10am-3pm

Wagon tours, free ice cream, baby calves, great food & more on this third generation dairy farm with an American flag painted barn roof, located at 592 Pine Stump Road.

Sep 16 -  Robbie Limon Rocks at Totem Pole Theater

Enjoy food & drinks by The Cottage at this annual fundraiser & picnic for the Playhouse. Food served from 1-2:30, Robbie Limon Band begins at 2pm. Tickets are $60, purchase online here.

Vote on new proposals, and enjoy an overview of Summit Health with guest speakers John Massimilla & Bea Hoffman.

 Sep 19 - Community Falls Prevention Awareness Day at Norlo Park, Sponsored by SNaP

Bring any assistive devices, everyday footwear & prescription glasses & receive a free individual fall risk assessment provided by Penn State Mont Also Physical Therapy Department, after a presentation by Daniel Dandy, PhD. Cost is Free for SNaP members, $10 each for general public. Register ahead at (352-4937) - space is limited to the first 100 individuals.

Sep 22-23 - Family Night & AHA Heart Walk at Penn National

It's time to walk for the health of it again! Last year our first satellite walk was so successful, we were given the Top New Team Award. We plan to keep the momentum going this year, with a Family Night & games on the lawn on Sept 22, and Heart Walk on Sept 23.  

Sep 23 - Art From the Heart Auction at Chambersburg Country Club 2-6pm

Hors d'oevres, drinks, live music, silent art auction and live art auction, presented by the Penn State Cooperative Extention. $10 Tickets can be purchased in advanced by calling (263-0443) or (267-1396), or $12 tickets can be purchased at the door.

Oct 3-Nov 7 - Intro to Ceramics Studio Class at Penn State Mont Alto 6-9pm

An introductory class to the art of making pottery & sculptural objects in clay. Learn various clay working techniques including slab building, coil construction, press molding & throwing on the potter's wheel. Cost is $125 for Nicodemus Center members, $150 for general public - plus a $50 materials fee for all registrants. Pre-register for the Oct 3 session by emailing jms48@psu.edu

Oct 5 - Homes Tour & Crafts Exhibit of Waterford, VA 8am-5pm

Depart from Weis parking lot at 8am to tour five authentic period homes, several 19th century buildings, and enjoy shopping three floors of juried handcrafts for sale in a restored brick mill. Return from Waterford, VA at 5pm. Tickets are $75, proceeds benefit Chambersburg Council for the Arts. Call (264-6883) by Oct 1 to reserve your ticket.
