Fayetteville, PA –  June 15, 2015 – Penn National Golf Course Community, an active retirement community near Gettysburg, PA has been awarded by the acclaimed Where to Retire magazine as one of the Top 50 Master-Planned Communities in the United States for the third consecutive time. The magazine announced "The Short List: 50 Best Master-Planned Communities in the United States" in its bimonthly July/August issue, set to hit newsstands June 21.

Where to Retire applauds the winning communities for their positive impact on the economic health of the towns and cities in which they are located. Last year, the magazine’s editors researched hundreds of communities across the nation in efforts to honor those that offer today’s retirees a well-rounded active lifestyle, according to Karen Northridge, Publisher, Where to Retire.

“As a family-owned business, we are especially proud that Penn National has been named to this elite group of communities by Where to Retire, the premier source of information on retirement communities and places to live,” said Dennis Zimmerman, President of Penn National and owner of White Rock Inc. “Our community is a unique, engaging and affordable place to live where residents can live well and stay close to their loved ones.”

Penn National first made the Where to Retire top 100 list of best master-planned communities in the US in 1999 and moved to the elite list of top 50 in 2011.

Penn National is adjacent to the 85,000-acre Michaux State Forest, and boasts two nationally recognized, 18-hole championship golf courses – the Founders and Iron Forge courses. Since 1999, both have consistently been awarded four stars by Golf Digest's "Places to Play" and have also received top ratings by Zagat Guide’s  "America’s Top Golf Courses."

Penn National offers retirees a variety of home options including single-family, patio homes, condos and villas. Residents have membership privileges to the golf courses, clubhouse, swimming pool and tennis courts in addition to a wide variety of clubs and activities that provide networks for friendships and hobbies. Penn National has no Master Association fees or charges and no mandatory fees—amenities, like golf, are a la carte.
