Penn National Golf Club features two 18-hole
championship golf courses - the Founders
and the Iron Forge. Both golf courses
continue to receive accolades from publications
like Golf Digest, and Washington
Golf Monthly. And just as Penn National
offers every modern amenity along with
a great sense of history, its two golf
courses also offer a choice of traditional
or contemporary.
The Founders Course, designed by Ed Adult, opened in 1968. The Founders
Course features a classic blend of tree-lined fairways, large greens,
sculpted bunkers and a 7-acre lake. With a par of 72, the Founders
Course is an enjoyable course for golfers of all ages and skill
levels.
The Iron Forge Course was created more recently and opened almost
30 years after its predecessor, in 1997. The Iron Forge was designed
by Bill Love of Ault, Clark and Associates and provides distinct
contrast to its sister course. A links-characteristic design with
sculpted bent-grass fairways, The Iron Forge is more open to the
forces of nature.
The "must play, double play"
Founders and Iron Forge Golf Courses are
both ranked 4 stars by Golf Digest's "Places
to Play".
