If you want an active retirement lifestyle,
Penn National is the right place to be!
Of course, there is golf. Our two 18-hole
championship golf courses, The Founders
Course and Iron Forge, are consistently
rated 4 star courses and better by Golf
Digests Places to Play. We are especially
proud of these accolades since primarily
golfers, who play courses all over the
United States, heavily influence these
ratings.
The Penn National Clubhouse is home to the sales center, meeting
rooms, the Founders Grille, and the Pro Shop. The Founders Grille
is the perfect place to recap a golf outing or enjoy breakfast,
lunch or dinner. Hours are seasonal and the Founders Grille is ideal
for parties, a bite after a long day of 36-holes or a quiet evening
for two on the terrace. The Trellis Terrace, located at the Clubhouse
complex, offers a casual atmosphere in a private setting and is
perfect for seasonal events. The Pro Shop is a full-service, well-stocked
golf shop. Men's and women's apparel include designers Ben Hogan,
Greg Norman, Polo, Jamie Saddock, Gear Apparel, Oakley, Foot Joy,
and many more.
The Penn National Golf Center is the perfect complement to our
golf courses. An impressive 40-acre complex, the golf center features
an expansive practice green, large natural grass tee areas, practice
bunkers, and a lighted driving range with covered all-weather tees.
Managed by Bumble Bee Hollow,
staff includes LPGA Master Lorraine Klippel and a number of PGA
& LPGA professionals.
Swimming is available Memorial Day through Labor Day in our heated,
outdoor pool. If tennis is your passion, youll enjoy our two
outdoor har-tru tennis courts. Local indoor tennis and swimming
are available within a short drive.
And do we socialize! Whatever your interest or ability, youll
find a Penn social or fraternal club waiting for you. The Crafty
Ladies, Garden Club, Bowling Club, and Quilting Club are just a
few of the organizations that meet regularly for fellowship and
fun. Dinner meetings, volunteer work, and day-trips are among the
80+ organized activities offered in the community.
A piece of history, the Penn National Inn, sits right on the Founders
Course 8th fairway, boasting spectacular views of the mountains.
The gracious centerpiece of the Inn is White Rock Manor House, built
in 1847 by the family of Chambersburgs founder, and visited
by such notables as Robert E. Lee and the dashing Confederate General
J.E.B. Stuart. The Manor Houses imposing and beautiful brick
structure houses complete guest services, conference and small meeting
rooms, guest rooms and comfortable dining rooms. Seven modern guest
lodges surround the Manor House, providing 52 spacious guest rooms,
each is nicely furnished with cable TV, refrigerators, coffee makers,
direct dial telephones, two full-size beds, and private baths. Penn
National Inn specializes in hosting small and medium-sized golf
groups from two to 26 guests. Meeting space is available for business
golf outings or weekend retreats, and several weddings per year
are held on the property. Property owners enjoy access to the meeting
rooms for functions and the Inn is a marvelous place to house your
out-of-town guests while they visit.
